STAUFF ACT Clamps

STAUFF ACT clamps in the standard series and the double series based on DIN 3015 for common diameters between 6 and 42 millimetres. Clamp body made of flame-retardant PP-V0 plastic; tested and V0-classified in accordance with UL94. Integrated elastomer strips prevent the accumulation of seawater in the gap between the pipe clamp and the pipe (self-draining). Drainage channels support the drainage of seawater. Anti Corrosion Technology. Against crevice corrosion on the pipe.

ACT clamps from STAUFF are specially designed to protect stainless steel pipework against crevice corrosion. ACT stands for Anti Corrosion Technology, so colloquially speaking these are our anti-corrosion clamps. They are made of flame-retardant polypropylene (PP-V0) and integrated elastomer strips that prevent moisture from penetrating the gap between the clamp and the pipe. Metal components such as rails, screws and welding plates are made of V4A stainless steel and are optimised for maximum resistance to seawater and other environmental influences. Clamp body made of flame-retardant polypropylene PP-V0 (in black) with integrated elastomer strips Metal components such as cover plates and welding plates, screws, rail nuts, support rails etc. in stainless steel V4A for maximum durability and resistance to corrosion and other environmental influences.

Stainless steel components are also available with improved corrosion resistance. In this case, metallic and non-metallic impurities are consistently avoided during production, processing and storage. The components are then distributed exclusively in the form of complete and closed packaging units in order to categorically rule out contamination during transport.

Mounting options are flexible, including weld plate mounting, surface mounting and fastening with hammerhead bolts and rail nuts in cable trays or profile rails.

Materials and finishes

STAUFF ACT clamps are manufactured from high-quality, durable materials:

  • Clamp body: Flame-retardant polypropylene PP-V0 (black) with elastomer strips to prevent moisture build-up.

  • Metal parts: Stainless steel V4A, optionally also with improved corrosion resistance thanks to special production and transport processes.

  • Protection against contamination: Packaging units with 25 components per bag minimise the risk of contamination.

Product variants and sizes

The ACT clamps are available in two main versions:

  • Standard series in accordance with DIN 3015, Part 1.

  • Double series in accordance with DIN 3015, Part 3.

  • Seven sizes for diameters from 3.2 mm to 88.9 mm.

Fastening options

Depending on the project, application and use, there are different requirements for mounting the ACT clamps. As they are standardised in accordance with DIN 3015, they can be mounted in all available ways:

  • Mounting on welding plates

  • Surface mounting with welding plates

  • Mounting in profile rails with fastening adapters

  • Fastening in cable trays/trays with hammer-head screws

Applications and areas of use

STAUFF ACT clamps are ideal for use in harsh and corrosive environments:

  • Oil and gas industry: offshore and onshore installations, FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading Units).

  • Shipping and marine: shipbuilding, harbour facilities and coastal infrastructure.

  • Industry and plant engineering: piping systems, petrochemical plants.

Advantages and unique selling points

STAUFF anti-corrosion clamps are an example of how we have responded to our customers' requirements and developed special products over the last few years and decades. The ACT clamp therefore has special features:

  • Protection against crevice corrosion: elastomer strips and drainage channels prevent moisture accumulation.

  • Outstanding corrosion resistance: V4A stainless steel for maximum durability.

  • Flame retardant: Tested and classified according to UL94 V0.

  • Long maintenance intervals: Reduction of replacement and maintenance costs.

  • Suitable for extreme conditions: Seawater-resistant and UV-stable.

Certifications and standards

STAUFF ACT clamps fulfil international standards and certifications:

  • Certifications: ABS, BV, DNV, LR, Department of the Navy, RINA.

  • Norms & Standards: DIN 3015 (Part 1 & 3), Norsok Z-010, API RP 552, NACE SP 0108-2008 and specification S-716 of the International Oil & Gas Producers Association (IOGP) for small bore tubing and fittings, which was created as part of the Joint Industry Programme 33 (JIP33)

  • Independent testing: Confirmed by the Centre for Corrosion Technology at Sheffield Hallam University.
