Return-Line Filter Housings of the RF Series

STAUFF presents return-line filter housings from the RF series in a new, redesigned version.

RF series filter housings are available in six sizes, are used in mobile and industrial hydraulics and have been part of STAUFF's established range of filtration technology for several years.

The update results in a number of specific advantages for the user, e.g. when handling and installing the components and when replacing contaminated filter elements:

Sizes RF-14, RF-30, RF-45 and RF-70
Sizes RF-90 and RF-130

Light-Weight Design

Compared to the previous design, the aluminium filter head has been made significantly slimmer and therefore lighter. The RF-14, RF-30, RF-45 and RF-70 sizes now have a screw cap made of glass-fibre reinforced polyamide. Both changes have no effect on the performance of the filter housings, particularly with regard to their pressure resistance: the new RF filter housings can still be used at maximum operating pressures in the return-line of up to 16 bar / 232 PSI. The lower weight also leads to advantages when transporting and handling the filters. Of course, the relevant dimensions and bore patterns for mounting the filter housings remain unchanged.

Quick and Easy Installation

Thanks to the modified design of the filter head, the fastening bolts on the bottom are now much easier to reach during installation. The use of a plastic screw cap for sizes RF-14, RF-30, RF-45 and RF-70 reduces the variety of parts, as there is no need for fastening bolts and other fastening accessories. An aluminium cover is still used for the RF-90 and RF-130 sizes, which now has an integrated grab handle. The cover is secured with a bayonet lock, which means that the bolts do not have to be completely loosened and removed in order to (dis)assemble the cover. This also helps to reduce the variety of parts and minimises the risk of losing components.

Quick and Easy Filter Element Replacement

If the integrated filter elements of the RE series need to be replaced, this can optionally be signalled using accessories such as visual contamination indicators and electrical limit switches. By designing the filter cap as a screw-on version (for sizes RF-14, RF-30, RF-45 and RF-70) and as a bayonet version with a handle (for sizes RF-90 and RF-130), the filter itself can now be changed much more quickly and easily.
